When people think about investing they almost always reference the stock market which I would say if fairly typical. In the past the stock market has been considered one of the best investments out there, especially if you're planning on investing for any decent amount of time.

Real estate investing is without a doubt one of my favorite forms of investing for many different reasons. It's much more satisfying to watch your money go into physical property than it is to watch your money swirl down the drain in the stock market, let me tell you!

Investing in real estate is exciting because you are dealing with tangible stuff; house, an apartment building, a commercial building, maybe even a shopping mall or something else. What makes investing in real estate more difficult then, say, investing in the stock market is the fact that you have to actually sit down and sign a contract in order to purchase a property.

Investing in real estate can be a fantastic way to save for your retirement that tends to be more stable than stock market investing over the long term and it also promises greater returns than the stock market as well. Of course, the downside is that it takes more effort to invest in real estate than it does to invest in the stock market. Part of that effort involves actually purchasing your investment property.
